Churchyard Cross in the Parish of Sancreed

The Churchyard Cross

The Holy Well at Sancreed

This beautifully proportioned cross was first recorded in 1856 and is situated on the South side of the churchyard. The design on the face of the cross is thought to represent a Fleur-de-Lis stood in a vase. Close to the cross is a wonderful holy well, in very good condition and well worth stopping by to get a splash of holy water. The cross at Sancreed is located in the middle of all the other crosses mentioned on this site. It is bounded to the North by St. Just, to the East by Madron, (location of Market Cross Penzance) to the South by the village of Paul and on the West side by St Buryan.
